Accessibility and Accommodation

We are committed to making the Festival experience the best we possibly can for all of our patrons. Accessibility and accommodation services are listed below.

Please inform the Ticket Office (800-PLAYTIX) when you purchase tickets if you need these or other services. All accommodations should be requested at least seven working days prior to attendance.

Parking for those with disabilities is available on Shakespeare Lane and other areas noted on the map below. Shakespeare Lane provides the closest access for drop off and ramp entrances for the Randall L. Jones Theatre. Center Street/University Boulevard provides the closest drop off and ramp entrance for the Engelstad Shakespeare Theatre and the Anes Studio Theatre.

All Festival theatres are accessible to persons with disabilities and are equipped with hearing-enhancement headsets, available for no charge in the theatre lobbies.

ASL Interpreted Performances

Live American Sign Language (ASL) Interpretation services are scheduled to be provided for:

  • The 39 Steps at 2:00 p.m. on August 27 in the Randall L. Jones Theatre
  • The Taming of the Shrew at 8:00 p.m on August 28 in the Engelstad Shakespeare Theatre

Captioned Performances

Captioned services are scheduled to be provided during the 2024 season for these seven performances:

  • Much Ado About Nothing at 2:00 p.m. on August 19 in the Randall L. Jones Theatre
  • Henry VIII at 8:00 p.m. on August 19 in the Engelstad Shakespeare Theatre
  • The 39 Steps at 2:00 p.m. on August 20 in the Randall L. Jones Theatre
  • The Winter’s Tale at 8:00 p.m. on August 20 in the Engelstad Shakespeare Theatre
  • The Mountaintop at 2:00 p.m. on August 21 in the Anes Studio Theatre
  • The Taming of the Shrew at 8:00 p.m. on August 21 in the Engelstad Shakespeare Theatre
  • Silent Sky at 2:00 p.m. on August 22 in the Anes Studio Theatre

Sensory-Friendly Performances

The Utah Shakespeare Festival is pleased to present Sensory-Friendly performances during the 2024 season at a reduced ticket price.

  • The Taming of the Shrew at 8:00 p.m. on September 4 in the Engelstad Shakespeare Theatre
  • Much Ado About Nothing at 2:00 p.m. on September 12 in the Randall L. Jones Theatre.

We value the chance for everyone to experience the art of live theater in a positive and enriching way. These Sensory-Friendly performances are for anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed theatergoing environment. This can include, but is not limited to, people with sensory sensitivities, anxiety, dementia, autism spectrum disorders, learning differences or challenges. However, the performance is open to everyone! These performances include accommodations such as: house lights on at a low level throughout the performance; audience members are welcome to stand, move around, and enter and leave the theater as needed; sensory supports are available (fidgets, earplugs, etc.), and more.

For Visitors with Service Animals

Service Animals are welcome at the Utah Shakespeare Festival. Service animals are limited to dogs by Federal Law. Emotional support animals and pets are not permitted. Please contact the Ticket Office within one week of visiting the Festival with a service animal.
